"Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked: Which woman is the best? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The woman who pleases her husband when he looks at her, obeys him when he commands her, and does not disobey him in matters of her own self or his wealth in ways that he dislikes."
(Mishkat p. 283, Tanqih j. 2 p. 217)
Benefit: The meaning is that she should be so cheerful and good-natured that when the husband comes home and meets and talks to his wife, he is not saddened by it, but rather she smiles and talks to him with love. If he comes home with a troubled mind, she should make him happy with her good behavior and good manners. It should not be that she is always made up and dressed up, bombarding her husband with past stories and complaints, igniting the fire of escape, turning the night's melody into a mountain, based on hypocrisy, lies, and shamelessness, and disturbing his mind with gossip she has heard from here and there.
Indeed, some women are such that as soon as the husband enters the house, they start bombarding him with complaints, "She did this to me, my sister-in-law did this, my brother's wife did this kind of injustice." As a result, the husband becomes upset by the woman's sweet trickery and, opposing his mother and sister, establishes a long series of fights and quarrels. Such a woman does not please her husband! She is the one who throws him into Hell because she saddened him instead of pleasing him. So listen! O good-natured one, please him with your loving words, do not sadden him by making complaints, and do not cause him distress. Near God, you will find a good, intelligent, brave, and heavenly reward.
