A famous Muhaddith, Abdullah bin Mubarak (died: 181 AH), has a story. Caliph Harun Rashid was in his palace. At that time, a maid of the palace was looking towards the market. She saw that a large number of people were rushing towards the market to welcome Abdullah bin Mubarak. The Caliph asked the maid what was happening. The maid said, "O Amir al-Mu'minin, Abdullah bin Mubarak is coming to Baghdad today. The real kingdom is not yours, the real kingdom is Abdullah bin Mubarak's, who is ruling the hearts of the people. Your kingdom is only based on the strength of the army." (Majalla Al-Shariq, Azamgarh, March - April 2014)
There is a great lesson in this historical event, that the kingdom of knowledge is a greater thing than political kingdom. There is decline for political kingdom, but there is no decline for the kingdom of knowledge. Political kingdom is a limited kingdom, but the kingdom of knowledge is such a kingdom that is not bound by any geographical boundary. The importance of this matter has increased greatly in the present era. The present era is the era of technology. Today, if a person writes a book, prints it, and prepares its printed copies, then this printed book will be there even where the person is not physically present. The present era is the era of technology. Today, it is possible that a person speaks in one place and his voice is heard in every part of the earth, even his moving image appears before the people at the same time. A kingdom has a territorial area, but the extent of the influence of the scholars is not bound by any territorial area, it can reach everywhere and every place equally. The importance of knowledge is undoubtedly greater than all things, both in terms of the scholar's own self and in terms of others. A person should try to achieve a high position in the field of knowledge instead of achieving a high position in politics. There is always a risk of resistance in the field of politics, but there is no risk of any resistance in the field of knowledge. The field of knowledge is such a field that always remains empty.
