Among the blessings that Allah, the Lord of Majesty, has bestowed upon man, one important blessing is the tongue.
Through this blessing, man conveys his thoughts to others.
In short, it is a great means of expressing what is in one's heart.
But this same tongue becomes a cause of good, and this same tongue becomes a reason for leading into evil.
Sometimes it leads towards Paradise and sometimes towards Hell.
The matter of the tongue is very sensitive and delicate.
In the Holy Quran, the Generous Lord, while describing the attribute of the believers, said:
And those who turn away from ill speech.
"That they avoid indecent talk."
Hazrat Uqba bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I asked in the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):
What is the path to salvation?
The Master (peace be upon him) said: Control your tongue.
Keep your tongue under control,
and consider your home sufficient for you, and remain repentant over your sins.
It is learned that the tongue should not be used uselessly; whenever you speak, speak well, and the conversation should be at the time of need and according to the need.
Because too much conversation involves a person in meaningless talk.
Gradually, the realization is also lost whether what he is saying
is beneficial or not.
Similarly, the speaker should consider whether I am capable of what I am saying or not.
Because speaking despite incompetence creates problems.
It is in the narration: "Part of the excellence of a person's Islam is his leaving that which does not concern him."
Leaving useless work and talk is the beauty and perfection of Islam.
If the tongue is used for good, for the obedience of Allah and His Messenger, then Allah has guaranteed Paradise for it.
Protecting the tongue is an important means of saving one's faith and preserving deeds.
Therefore, we must strictly protect the tongue so that some slip of the tongue does not cause distance from Paradise. Because most mischiefs, calamities, and problems occur because of the tongue.
Due to its harshness and bitterness, home, family, parents, children, student, teacher—every relationship fades.
A society falls apart.
So where the tongue is a blessing, it is also a trial.
Fault-finding, backbiting, slander, humiliation and disparagement, taunting and reviling, blameworthy praise,
swearing by other than Allah, undue comments on others,
talking uselessly and pointlessly.
Words of disbelief are also uttered by the tongue.
These are the consequences of the unrestrained use of the tongue.
It is very important that we remain alert.
If the correct use of the tongue is learned, it becomes easy to keep oneself safe from calamities, troubles, losses, and mischief.
Adopt silence,
silence is the solution to problems.
Therefore, there is a need for the protection and monitoring of our tongue.
May the Lord Almighty grant the ability to speak what He likes through our tongues.
