Importance of the Pen

Among the blessings Allah Almighty has bestowed upon humans in the universe, the pen is such a great and fundamental blessing that it is difficult to even estimate its value. The pen is the greatest guarantor of human intellectual, academic, and historical progress. Whatever academic capital, cultural heritage, and historical records have been preserved from the birth of humanity until today, it is all thanks to this pen.
In the very first revelation of the Holy Quran, Allah the Lord of Honor, along with the word "Iqra" (Read), drew attention to education through the pen with "taught by the pen." In another place, Allah the Lord of Honor says:
"Nun. By the pen and what they write." (Surah Al-Qalam)
Translation: "Nun. By the pen and that which they write."
Allah the Lord of Honor taking an oath by the pen is proof of how important and sacred the promotion of knowledge and the transmission of ideas through the pen is in the sight of Allah Almighty.
The cut of a sword is temporary, but the power of the pen is eternal. The sword only subdues and controls bodies, while the pen conquers hearts and minds. History bears witness that great empires vanished, kings and rulers turned to dust, but the writings emanating from the pens of philosophers, thinkers, poets, and scientists are still alive and immortal today. The pen brought humans out of darkness and toward light. If the pen did not exist, the knowledge of the past would not have reached the present, and generations would have remained unaware of the achievements of their ancestors.
The pen is the best means of preserving human emotions, feelings, and ideologies. Whatever a person thinks, feels, or discovers, the pen dresses it in the garb of words and makes it immortal forever. Whether it is science or art, religion or law, philosophy or literature; in short, no field of life can progress without the pen.
The pen is a great trust. Just as the positive use of the pen has brought about revolutions in the world, its misuse can also create social disorder. It is the duty of a conscious person to use their pen for truth, veracity, justice, peace, and the welfare of humanity, not for spreading lies, sedition, and mischief.
May Allah the Lord of Honor grant us the ability to recognize the value of the pen and use it correctly.
