Ceremony of Launching Seerat-ur-Rasool ﷺ: A Memorable and Soul-Stirring Gathering
For some days, this pleasant news was circulating that the successor of Sultan-ul-Qalam, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Dr. Yasir Nadeem Al-Wajidi Sahib Qasmi Damat Barakatuhum Al-Aaliya, was going to visit this Jamia. Then gradually this news turned into certainty, until it was received from Hazrat's Facebook page that the launching ceremony of Sultan-ul-Qalam Hazrat Maulana Nadeem Al-Wajidi Sahib Rahmatullahi Alaih's last book, Seerat-e-Rasool Allah ﷺ, is going to be held at Ateeb Al-Masajid, Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.
This humble person considered it a privilege to participate in this blessed and scholarly program, so I attended on time. Upon arriving there, I saw a dignified gathering of scholars, thinkers, and influential personalities. The president of this soul-stirring gathering was the successor of Khateeb-e-Islam, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Sufyan Qasmi Sahib Madazillahul Aali.
The program began with the soulful recitation of the Holy Quran by the esteemed teacher of Hadith of this Jamia, Hazrat Maulana Qari Muhammad Wasif Usmani Sahib Damat Barakatuhum Al-Aaliya, which illuminated the atmosphere and filled the hearts with joy. After that, Maulana Zeeshan Sahib Gudawi presented Naat-e-Pak in the court of the Prophet ﷺ, creating a wonderful atmosphere.
After that, the very kind, capable, and righteous teacher of Hadith of this Jamia, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Arif Usmani Sahib Madazillahul Aqdas, delivered a speech in which knowledge, sincerity, and passionate love for the students were evident. Then, the esteemed guests who came from far and near, especially the teachers from Darul Uloom Deoband, presented their valuable impressions on the scholarly, literary, and Da'wah services of Sultan-ul-Qalam Hazrat Maulana Nadeem Al-Wajidi Sahib Rahmatullahi Alaih. Through these statements, we students were informed about Hazrat's countless qualities, scholarly perfections, and sincere routines.
This humble person's meetings with Hazrat Maulana Nadeem Al-Wajidi Rahmatullahi Alaih were only occasional. Due to my lack of knowledge and ability, I could not benefit much, but one incident is still fresh in my heart. Once, despite hesitation, I wanted guidance on a useful book related to Ramadan, so Hazrat said with great affection:
Here, this book written by me (Aaj Raat Ki Tarawih) will, Insha Allah, prove very useful.
So, this humble person, during the entire Tarawih, after the Asr prayer, used to read and recite from this book to the worshippers, which was a matter of pride for me.
In the last part of the ceremony, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Dr. Yasir Nadeem Al-Wajidi Sahib spoke very painfully and effectively about his respected father. Tearful eyes, trembling voice, and the pain of separation from the father—every word went straight to the heart. In the end, this spiritual gathering concluded with the brief but very comprehensive words and prayer of the President of the meeting.
Afterwards, at the breakfast, I also had the privilege of taking a picture with Hazrat Mufti Yasir Nadeem Al-Wajidi Sahib Madazillahul Aali and his son, respected Hafeed Sultan-ul-Qalam Muhammad Ahmad Nadeem Al-Wajidi, which became a precious memory of this memorable gathering.
I pray in the court of Allah Almighty that
Allah Almighty elevate the ranks of Sultan-ul-Qalam Hazrat Maulana Nadeem Al-Wajidi Rahmatullahi Alaih, grant acceptance to his scholarly endeavors, and grant us the ability to follow in his footsteps. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds, by the grace of the trustworthy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
